We've been big fans of Britax as a brand since receiving Sienna's BOB Revolution pro so when we were asked to review the Britax ADVANSAFIX carseat, I couldn't wait to see what it was like! As Warren and I both have cars and his is a company car, we are forever taking Sienna's carseat in and out of each others cars so we never had an Isofix carseat.. we thought it would be too much hassle, but how wrong we were!
The ADVANSAFIX perfectly adapts with your growing child with the added security of keeping your little ones in a 5-point harness for longer. It is the first ISOFIX multi-stage car seat that gives parents the option to keep their child in a 5-point harness up to 25kg, which is fantastic. Great quality, safe carseats can be expensive and so the fact that this one carseat adapts for children from 9 months to 12 years means it is giving you fantastic value for money without comprising on safety.
As this was our first Isofix carseat I was worried about how to fit it but with the instructions we got there. I loved the fact that the installation indicators let us know it was installed correctly as sometimes you aren't sure if you have done it right. It fits nicely into the car and is a solid, sturdy seat. It offers Sienna a lot more protection than her previous carseat; from the extra padding and larger sides to the fact the seatbelt is clamped into the seat and that it uses a top tether to secure it even further and reduce any movement of the seat. It's nice to know that Sienna is comfortable and as safe as possible when we are travelling in the car.
I also love the fact it has the multiple recline feature as Sienna generally falls asleep in the car if we are out in the afternoon and when I can't lie her back, her head falls forward making her uncomfortable and waking her up. This feature allows me to tilt her back to prevent this without waking her up. There is also a height-adjustable headrest for her to use as she grows.
Overall, it's a brilliant carseat with all the high safety standards you expect from Britax to keep your little one safe and secure. It retails for £220 which I think is brilliant considering this carseat can adapt and should last you at least 12 years!
