Imaginative play is what I remember my childhood for and I hope Sienna will be the same. I kept my 'Glitter Babes' dolls I collected from Boots when I was younger in the hope that I'd have a daughter to pass them down too and she can create her own memories with.
The other day whilst clearing out the rooms I found them all together in a bag and was so excited to introduce Sienna too them. She took a while to get used to them but now I catch her playing with two of them and it sounds like she is talking to them and then dances with them. It is so cute to watch!
She has also shown a bit more interest in her kitchen the past few weeks and sits and plays with it for a good period of time. She has even started bringing the saucepan over to me when I'm sat on the sofa and I pretend to drink from it and say thank you, she finds it funny and then claps, how cute?!
We also have these hand puppets from Ikea. We hadn't thought of hand puppets before despite the one million cuddly toys she does have! They really help her think they are alive, we give them names and voices and they move unlike her teddies. She loves it when they try to gobble her hands up or steal her dummy! They are machine washable which is brilliant as some of Sienna's teddies aren't which is a bit tricky when they get dirty, I never find 'sponge washing' gets them properly clean! They are also a great size and fit big hands as well as smaller hands. I really recommend them, for the affordable price of just £4, they have created lots of fun, games and giggles, what more could you ask for?
I can't wait for Sienna to really start using her imagination and she's able to tell me what she's doing or thinks, I wish I knew what she was thinking when she's playing at this age, she makes so many funny faces and babbles a lot.
