Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation!

Last week, i was searching high and low for a new liquid foundation that would agree with my skin. I've tried every liquid foundation you can think of and they all either make me breakout or don't sit right on my skin. My skin is normal to oily and even dry/dehydrated on my cheeks and around my eyes. My nose is extremely oily particularly throughout the day, i'm always 'powdering my nose' and concerned about my large pores.

I currently use BareMinerals Matte foundation, however with my breakouts and acne scarring, i don't feel it's enough coverage for me. I've heard a lot about Estee Lauder doublewear over the years and heard raving reviews, however, i assumed because it's a liquid foundation, it would make my skin more oily and breakout! I got a sample from a counter in Boots and today i decided to bite the bullet and give it a go.

Applying this foundation was easy, it blends well and does give a medium but buildable coverage. I love the finish, it's matte but not too matte and did last most of the day on my skin. It sat well on my oilyness and my dry areas and didn't sink into my skin to highlight any pores. (However, i do always use a primer) I'm also very impressed with the colouring, i was matched to 1w1 Bone, because i'm super pale and this is a great match. I usually find higher end brands have very orangey toned foundation, even their palest colours!

Overall, i love this foundation. However, because my scarring is so bad (honestly, i know you can't see it, but it is under there!), i did use my BareMinerals foundation over the top! I think if you have minor blemishes or are lucky enough to have perfect skin, this foundation would be a winner!

Have you tried this foundation? What's your HG foundation?

  4. Looks really good.

I haven't tried this one, but I've often wondered what it would be like. I'll have to pick up a sample next time I'm at the Estee Lauder Counter x

  9. @pyxiee i don't think i will buy the full size! I got up this morning and had a breakout along my chin, it could be a coincidence but it scares me off! I think i'll stick to my BM and trying to fade my scars! x

  10. I'm glad this works for you! It takes so much time to find the best foundation. Honestly, I don't use foundation. If I have to go out at night, I apply baby powder on my skin. Foundation feels so heavy on my skin but this looks great on yours though. Even better since it covers acne and there are no additional breakouts.

I have a pressed powder foundation that I barely use though it works well too. It's a pressed powder though. Have you ever tried Bobbi Brown or Vincent Longo?

  13. I just got a sample of this too, although in 'Shell', because my skin tone is a bit on the 'anaemic chic' side. Really love it so far. Shame about the breakout, but it could just be a coincidence.
